Congratulations to this sweet family and their first baby, Grace! I was so touched by how much Grace’s mom and dad gushed with love for her. Their home was filled with photos, along with some empty frames that have been waiting for baby Grace. I am sure that in no time their walls will be filled with her sweet little face!

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is knowing that some of the photos I take become permanent fixtures in people homes as prints on the walls or in albums. And I am so honored that I got to help this darling family capture the first chapter of Grace’s story.

And baby #3 completes this sweet family! Baby Emily’s parents chose not to find out whether they were having a boy or a girl for all three of their babies, so when a baby girl arrived, they were pleasantly surprised! Her mama finally got to use all of the little girl headbands and blankets she had been saving since baby #1!

What a lucky little girl Emily is to have two darling big brothers! As a brand new mama myself, I am in awe of this family. Mom and dad made having three littles under the age of four look easy! They are my heroes. Of course, with two toddlers, posed photos and perfect smiles aren’t always possible. And to me, that’s the best part about lifestyle photography! The photos are silly and imperfect, and hopefully the families I photograph can look back on their pictures and say, “That’s so us!”

I had so much fun photographing the W Family again this year. I photographed Ellora when she was just 3 months old, and now she just turned one. She has grown so much! Her mom and dad celebrated with a family photo session followed by a cake smash. Ellora is such a wonderful young person. She loved being thrown in the air by her dad, finding acorns, exploring her surroundings, and of course, eating cake! ellora1 ellora2 ellora3 ellora4

What a way to celebrate the Fall season! The F Family was such a blast to photograph, and the park was starting to change colors, which is exciting to see here in the Bay Area. Getting to know so many different families is one of my favorite parts of this job, and it was such a joy to be around this family’s playful loving energy at our photo session. These kiddos love their mommy and each other to pieces! (I hope my future kids get along this well someday!) Usually, when there is a kid under the age of 5, we move fast to try to avoid burn out. And 4-year old little Scotty hung in there for the full 50 minute session thanks to his awesome siblings (and a few candy brides from mom)! Their photos keep making me smile!

I began doing Senior Portraits two years ago and I absolutely love it! As a high school teacher and photographer, Senior Portraits combine my two loves: teenagers and photography! I find that Senior Portraits are such an awesome opportunity for teens to showcase and celebrate their individuality and their sense of who they are. And Emma is such a beautiful soul. Her loving, artistic, and sophisticated spirit shines through her photos at Sutro Baths, one of my favorite places to shoot portraits. I love the way photographing seniors can bring out a confidence and character that is sometimes just below the surface.  emmasenior1 emmasenior2 emmasenior3
