Maggie’s Newborn Session | San Francisco, CA

As a newborn photographer, I am often one of the first visitors during a new baby’s first week home. I do not take for granted what a privilege it is to be a small part of this tender, overwhelming, and beautiful period of time in a new parent’s life.  As a new mom myself, I am now even more aware of the brevity of this phase, and have an even greater level of passion for newborn photography.

This past week, I was so honored to photograph my sweet friends in their first week as new parents of baby Maggie. I could truly feel that overwhelming and all-consuming love for their new baby, and I think it is so evident in their photos. Chapter one of Maggie’s little life is already so vibrant, surrounded by incredible parents and the majestic beauty of the San Francisco Bay. During the session, 7-day old Maggie’s dad bravely led the way outside to take photos with the ocean in the background. We saw whales breaching during the session outside! I think the presence of the whales was unquestionably a symbol for the magical childhood Maggie has ahead of her!
